MENYIAPKAN BAKI KERJA BAGI PROJEK PEMULIHARAAN MUARA SUNGAI BESUT, DAERAH BESUT, TERENGGANU

The project is located at the river mouth of Sungai Besut, a critical area affected by severe siltation, particularly during the Northeast Monsoon. The shallow channel, compounded by strong winds and wave activity, has long posed a significant navigational hazard to vessels operating in the area.
In response to these challenges, the Government of Malaysia, through the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), previously constructed two breakwaters, completed in 1998, to stabilise the river mouth and improve vessel access.
Over time, due to natural morphological changes, sand has begun to bypass the original breakwaters, leading to renewed siltation, especially to the north of the structures. Additionally, wave penetration continues to affect the area, reducing navigability and increasing erosion risks.
To further mitigate siltation, enhance coastal protection, and ensure safe navigation year-round, the Government initiated additional works including the construction of new breakwaters and the deepening of the Sungai Besut river mouth. These efforts also include measures to reduce coastal erosion and restore natural sediment balance.
The initial construction commenced in 2016, but due to non-performance by the previous contractor, the contract was terminated in 2020.
Scope of Works
The remaining scope of works was subsequently awarded to Perbudi, which includes:
• Construction of two new breakwaters (Northern and Southern)
• Installation of revetments and training walls
• Implementation of beach nourishment works
Perbudi is committed to completing the project with the highest standards of quality and safety, contributing to the long-term protection and functionality of the Sungai Besut estuarine environment.
MEMBINA JALAN SAMBUNGAN SUNGAI KELAMBU KE GENTING SANYEN, DAERAH KUALA LANGAT, SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN

This project involves the construction of a new 9.1 km road connecting Jalan Semarak 1, Kampung Sungai Kelambu to Persiaran Gombak, Genting Sanyen. The proposed road will serve as an alternative route linking Pekan Banting to Putrajaya, Salak Tinggi, and KLIA, significantly improving connectivity within the region.
The primary objective is to alleviate traffic congestion and to provide a more efficient and convenient transportation corridor for road users by enhancing the current road infrastructure.
Scope of Works
The key scope of works includes:
- Upgrading the existing road and constructing a new dual-lane road (JKR U4 Standard) along Persiaran Semarak 1 to Persiaran Gombak for a total length of 9.1 km
- Site clearing and earthworks
- Roadworks in accordance with JKR specifications
- Drainage and utility works
- Construction of associated infrastructure and ancillary works
As the project involves the widening of existing roads, a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan (TMP) will be developed and implemented. Construction activities will be carried out in phased stages to minimise disruption and ensure public safety throughout the project duration.
PROJEK PEMBINAAN BARAJ BARU DI RANTAU PANJANG, SUNGAI MUDA, SEBERANG PERAI UTARA, PULAU PINANG

The project site is located approximately 9.5km upstream from the Sungai Muda rivermouth, involving two existing barrages situated at the location — the Rantau Panjang Barrage managed by Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBAPP), and the Sungai Muda Barrage under the jurisdiction of Pengurusan Lembangan Sungai Muda (PLSM). These two structures are separated by a narrow island within the river channel.
Scope of Works
The scope of the project encompasses a comprehensive range of civil and structural works, including:
- Site clearance and preliminary earthworks
- Works related to the PBAPP Barrage, including dismantling of the existing gate
- Construction of barrage embankment involving:
- Sand reclamation
- Deep Soil Mixing (DSM)
- Rock revetment installation
- Construction of the new barrage gate structure
- Installation of revetment protection systems
- Construction of a log boom structure for debris control
- Development of a new access road
- Associated civil and ancillary works required to support the overall functionality and integrity of the project
This project aims to enhance water management infrastructure while improving structural resilience and operational efficiency within the Sungai Muda river system.
